TEAM
BIGLEN DETERMINED DESPITE RECENT RACETRACK HURDLES
Miami,
FL – The transition into the top class
in sport compact championship drag racing has positioned
the South Florida based, Team BigLen, staring in the
face of a monstrous learning curve, carrying with it
the usual new car and engine issues. Nonetheless,
team owner & pro driver Len Monserrat stands undeterred,
as he leads his team with an unparalleled desire that
burns hotter than ever, vowing to closeout the remainder
of the 2003 season the only way he knows how; in grand
fashion with the boost turned way up!
“This sport itself feeds back a tremendous level
of passion and tenacity that can keep anyone poised
for the next challenge, regardless of size, time, or
place. If you don’t understand that, you
might as well pack your bags and go home,” says
Monserrat.
The
team especially embraces the sportsmanship of fellow
racers Abel Ibarra, Manny Cruz, Christian Rado, and
the Bullish team, whom have all gone out of their way
to contribute valuable input to the team’s progress.
Furthermore, The team stresses the importance of working
with quality companies, such as, associate sponsors
Nitrous Express, Innovative Turbo Systems, & Electromotive
Engine Controls, all of which have put forth a great
effort in getting the combination squared away.
Despite
the issues and a late season start, Monserrat currently
sits sixth (6th) on the NOPI (NDRA) Championship points
fund, just behind good friend Abel Ibarra, credit mainly
to two semi-final round appearances in Bristol, TN and
St. Louis, MO. The team will skip this weekend’s
NDRA race in Houston, TX, while it fine-tunes the setup
on the APC / Dynamic Turbo Mitsubishi Eclipse.
“This
team’s effort is truly something else…
It’s unstoppable. There is absolutely nothing
that we cannot overcome. We promised we would
deliver a pristine machine that the fans would love,
and judging by their reactions, we’ve done exactly
that. Now, we have to get them even more fired
up by turning it loose down the racetrack!” comments
team manager, Roman Serra.
Team
BigLen looks forward to dropping the hammer once again
at the upcoming NHRA Sport Compact Fall Nationals, in
Englishtown, NJ on October 4-5. Before that, fans
may see the exotic looking, APC, Dynamic Turbo sponsored,
2003 Pro RWD Mitsubishi at the NOPI Nationals Motorsports
Supershow, in Atlanta, on September 20-21. As
always, the team will support and make appearances for
the Racers Against Street Racing (RASR) program.
