STARTS 2005 SEASON OUT
OF TUNE
Miami, FL
– As luck would have it, almost everything that
could have gone wrong for the 2005 NHRA season opener,
went wrong for Len Monserrat and his Pro RWD effort.
From generator power problems with the semi-truck, to
tune-up discrepancies for the "perfect air" on Saturday
night, to confusion in the staging lanes, the weekend
just did not go right... Again...
“Unfortunately, it looks like we're starting off
the year on the same foot as we have been for the last
two seasons... It's beyond frustrating already,” says Monserrat.
He did add a bit of good news, jokingly: "at least we
didn't have a chance to put it on the roof!" An
unusually high, four cars ended up top-side-down during
this weekend's event - all driver's walked away with no
injuries.
Monserrat chose to park the car on Sunday morning before
the final round of qualifying noting how "far off" the
tune-up was the night before. The team will put
the car back in the garage for some more preparation to
get ready for the next event.
